Since the temperature has fallen, and the snow still has not fall, I intend to take a walk to a frozen lake to make few photos. And so, after I sow the weather forecast for the next week and it was about to snow, there was no second chance, so I had to go now or wait till next year. With these short days and the only time I can get some sleep is the weekend I chose again Masliovsihki lakes as closest to Sofia.
On Saturday morning, till I got up and then do this and that it became 12 o’clock. I packed my backpack and around 12:30 I left, around 4 hours later, half an hour before sunset, almost breathless I reached the first lake. I threw the backpack on the ground, left the tent pitching for later and started to shoot.
The lake was incredible! It was almost completely frozen, only where the water flows out it was not.
Well in the sky there was not a single cloud. Just half moon.
In the opposite direction of the sunset the sky began slowly to get pink.
And then it became purple.
The ice was quite thick, but I did not want to test it where the depth was more than a span.
Gradually the colours disappeared and the first stars shown.
The time to pitch my tent came. There were quite strong gusts of wind, the ground was frozen and I hardly could fix the stakes into the ground. So after 40 minutes, my longest tent pitching it was time for dinner.
Around 9 I put a fully charged battery and let the photo camera to shoot, then tuck into the warm sleeping bag and tried to sleep.
With the strong gusts of wind bending the tent it was a bit difficult to fall asleep, but when the phone rang at 6:30 I was already awake and ready to getup.
The sky continued to be clear without a cloud.
A little bit after the sunrise peak Maliovitsa colored red from it first rays.
After the sun climbed higher I made few photos of the strange forms in the ice.
From the previous evening I also marked a spot with frozen grass in it.
And then I packed and back to Sofia. On the way down with the last remains of energy in my batteries I shot and the frozen stream that runs by the trail. It had also frozen the upper part of the trail so I had to climb up and down strait up.
