This is one of the most famous places in the Dolomites mountain. There is a road to it and it is more crowded than my preferences, but it turned out that around the sunrise and sunset hours it is also peaceful and quiet.

So In the morning I moved with the car a bit up the road and left it where I hoped parking was allowed. Grab my backpack and headed to Lavaredo hut.

The trail is very nice and it is not hard at all. I can’t understand why so many people use their cars and pay to climb there.

In the late afternoon I went for a walk to find a nice place for shooting.

I walked to the other side of the peaks because the sun was setting there.

Unfortunately there were clouds on west and the sunset was not very spectacular.

I made few more photos on my way back to the hut.

As the light faded the Sky colors shifted to purple.

In the morning I woke before the sunrise and tried to go out of the hut. Well I was surprised to find the main way through the restaurant closed. I was lucky that there were two other Italian guys who also were chasing the sunrise. So they revealed me the secret emergency door.

Now I decided to shoot towards the rising sun. Though there were no clouds in the sky. There were mists in the valley and the peaks on the other side were spectacular.

It seams that I did not noticed them the previous day but in the morning light they were really like in fairytale.

The sun lit the highest peaks.
